Our shop was founded in 1910 by the Benner family. In the 50s, Harold F Benner turned it into its first full-fledged auto body facility. The original shop was only 6,000 square feet consisting of an office, one spray booth, and a 3,500 square foot body shop. A lot has changed in the past sixty years but our goal at Benner’s Auto Body has been, and always will be the same: to provide our customers with the service they expect with the respect they deserve.
In 1980, Henry Benner sold the body shop to Joseph O’Neill Sr. After 80 years of running without any changes, Joseph decided to expand the building to accommodate more volume, more cars and more customers. The renovations would increase the body shop’s size to 25,000 square feet. The body shop can now hold 60 cars comfortably and the paint shop is equipped with 3 Accudraft downdraft spray booths.
In 2010 Benner’s was handed down to its current owner Joseph O’Neill Jr. We now have multiple goals as a corporation: to continue to provide the best product for our customers, led by example amongst the community and work diligently towards changing our carbon footprint. We are a proud supporter of the Union County 200 Club and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Benner’s Auto Body is proud to be a Gold Class® collision repair business. The Gold Class recognition indicates that our technicians are trained in the proper repair techniques and procedures that contribute to the complete and safe repair of your vehicle.
As a Gold Class shop, we require each of our technicians involved in collision repair to take ongoing training every year. This includes classes on new vehicle technologies and the latest repair techniques.
Benner’s Auto Body is among only 10 percent of collision repair businesses to achieve Gold Class status, whereas shops that are not Gold Class may train minimally or not at all. Gold Class shops are trained on how to fix your vehicle right; on what can be repaired and what needs to be replaced; and on how to see hidden damage you may not see.
Two out of three people find a repair shop by talking to friends or relatives. Don’t take chances. Refer your friends and family to Benner’s Auto Body and let our trained repair professionals take care of them today!
